Vipassana means "super-seeing", but is often translated as "insight" or "clear-seeing". Calm body and mind and allow insight to arise through the practice of meditation, mindfulness of breathing and silence. Embrace this rare opportunity to let go of distraction and busyness by turning off your mobile phone, engaging in silence and contemplation, and stilling the choppy waters of the mind to discover what lies beneath. NOTE: on our vipassana retreats we follow the Thai Forest Tradition and we do have eye contact with others. It is considered acceptable if you happen to smile in greeting at someone else. However, if two or more friends attend, it is not permitted to have extended communication with your friends. Most guests do happen to attend these retreats solo. |
