We are located 12.9 km (8 miles) from Belturbet in Co. Cavan and 7 miles from Lisnaskea in Co. Fermanagh. We are easy to reach from the cities: you stay on the same road N3 (or M3) all the way up from Dublin to within 5kms of our retreat centre (the turn-off is Teemore). And from Belfast, you're on the M1 and A4 for 90% of the journey to us. Both of these two principal cities in Ireland are less than 90 miles (140kms) away.
From Dublin, or the South, take the M3 from Blanchardstown in the direction of Cavan.
(1) As you approach Cavan Town, take the third exit at the main roundabout following the signs for Enniskillen and Ballyshannon. Stay on this main road and after 14 minutes, you arrive at the Belturbet Roundabout.
(2) Continue on straight taking the 2nd exit here towards Enniskillen. Continue on for 8km. Take a right turn at Teemore Cross.
(3) The sign says: Lisnaskea 9 - you are now in County Fermanagh and road-signs are in miles. Follow this road for 3 miles going in the direction of Geaglum and Inish Rath Island. Continue on this road to it's conclusion, following the signs to Inish Rath Island. (Just before you come to Geaglum jetty there's an Inish Rath 1/4 mile sign). Continue on gravel road towards Inish Rath for 400 metres until you see the signs for the retreat.
Coming from the North (Derry, Donegal, Omagh) aim for Enniskillen. The road approaching Enniskillen is the A32. In Enniskillen, aim for Dublin on the Sligo Road (A4). A mile out of town centre take first exit or go left at roundabout following signs for Dublin. 10 miles South of Enniskillen you come to Derrylin. On the other side of this one-street village take a left onto the B127 towards Lisnaskea. After 3 miles look for the Inish Rath Island signs from here. The first sign will have you make a right turn off the B127. Continue on gravel road towards Inish Rath until you see the sign for the retreat.
Coming from the Belfast and the East take the M1 which leads onto the A4 in the direction of Enniskillen. 12 miles before reaching Enniskillen look for the left turn taking you to Lisnaskea. At Lisnaskea there is a primary roundabout beside Lidl Supermarket. Go onto main street here by taking 2nd exit and drive down the road. After 1 minute you come to smaller mini-roundabout (a painted circle) on Main Street and take the right turn taking you towards Derrylin on the B127 road, which you follow for 5 miles. You cross over a first and then a second bridge over the lake (both bridges are approx 100 metres long). Take next turn left and follow signs to Inish Rath from here. Continue on gravel road towards Inish Rath until you see the sign for the retreat.
Coming from the West (Sligo) aim for Enniskillen. Before entering the town take a right (or second exit) at the roundabout and aim for Dublin on the A509 (N3).

From Dublin take the Donegal line from the main (and only) coach station in Dublin city centre (Busárus). Ask for a ticket to Belturbet. Website: www.buseireann.ie The journey takes about 2hrs 30mins. From Belturbet, you need a taxi: see taxi info below.
The bus company encourages passengers to pre-book the coach ticket online. If the online page says it is "Full" though, it's not full at that moment - they've simply reached the limit of tickets they sell online. You can also pay with euro cash on the bus - there would be space most of the time. Return tickets are only sold online.
From Belfast, there are Ulsterbus coaches every hour from Belfast to Enniskillen. You get off at Maguiresbridge, about 12 miles before Enniskillen: Then, see taxi info below.
By Taxi
Via the Republic of Ireland: Local taxi services or (1) Michael 086 6093744, or (2) Seamus 086 3755107. If you arrive on the Bus Eireann coach at Belturbet, the car journey to Lake Isle Retreats near Inish Rath Island costs about €20. We suggest you phone that morning to make a provisional booking. Almost 2 hours after leaving Dublin, the coach stops in Cavan town for a 5 mins break. From the moment this bus departs again you may like to phone the taxi and tell him where you are. He'll know you'll arrive in Belturbet after 15-mins. It can be a good idea to pre-book the taxi the day before. Give an approx, arrival time in Belturbet.... .the actual arrival time on the day will tend be 10 or 20mins later than what is on the bus schedule, and the taxi driver will want you to phone from Cavan Town again.
Via Northern Ireland: If you arrive on a coach from Belfast here are the phone numbers to take you from Maguiresbridge to retreat near Inish Rath Island: Kelkabs 028 67723222 or 074 441062729; plus... 028 67722360 and 028 67722446. The journey will cost about £22 sterling. (note: These are UK phone numbers).
A taxi from Enniskillen (or he can go to collect you from Maguiresbridge) is Gerry: Phone 077 89777384.

Fly into either Dublin or Belfast. Each of these cities is a similar distance by road from our retreat centre.
If you are not hiring a car then Dublin may be the most convenient airport destination. Five times a day a Bus Eireann coach (the national operator) goes through the airport and brings passengers to Belturbet (the small town closest to us in the Rep. of Ireland). Ground staff at the airport will assist you to find the location of the bus stop, which is a 4-mins walk from the main exit of the airport building (specifically you want Zone 13, Stop 12, Route 30). You're looking for the bus with 'Donegal' as its end destination. Tickets are €30 Return to Belturbet. The coach at 12.50pm is the time most convenient to you for arriving at our retreats, in general.
Note: on occasion, it's possible to have 40 people get on the coach at Dublin airport. It can be possible for all the places to be filled up and 3 or 5 people have to wait until the next bus. To get a desired place on the coach, pre-book the ticket online. Or, only have hand luggage and take a place on the vehicle promptly . Or, if you have time, don't wait at Dublin airport, but go into the city centre bus station, and get on the same coach there... this coach leaves from the city centre at 12.30pm, and takes 20-mins to get to the airport. Get either a feeder bus or a taxi to Busarus, the city centre bus station.
If you do hire a car from Dublin Airport, we can arrange a 10% discount with Rhinocarhire.com, enquire for details.
Note: in Belfast there are two airports, Belfast City and Belfast International. If you fly into Belfast you'll need to get into the city centre to take a coach from Belfast Europa coach station.
