Gavin Cooke (above) first learned Tai Chi from Master Charles Thackaberry of the Irish Tai Chi Chuan Institute (the oldest running Tai Chi school in Ireland). There he learned the Yang style short form, long form and straight sword form and Qigong over a period of 7 years, and received his teaching certificate in 2004. Following this he trained with Master Jan Golden of Tai Chi Ireland - also for 7 years. With Jan he trained in Hunyuan Chen taichi, Bagua Zhang and Standing practices with a major focus on postural integrity.
With Tai Chi and Qi Gong practice we learn to focus on aligning ourselves between heaven on earth. We slowly, over time, let go of residual tension in our physical, mental and emotional bodies. The result is a stronger and more supple body, and a calmer, clearer mind. It is an ongoing and ever-rewarding path.
