Visit to Inish Rath Island (Krishna Island)
During our weekend retreats, guests have the optional opportunity to take a short boat crossing (approximately 300 metres across the lake) to visit Inish Rath Island, also known as Krishna Island.
This peaceful 22-acre wooded island is home to a traditional temple and quiet woodland paths.
Saturday (Optional Temple Visit)
Guests who wish may attend the “Greeting of the Deities” ceremony. The programme begins with gentle spiritual music originally arranged by George Harrison in 1970, accompanied by harmonium.
There is also sacred chant music and a traditional arati ceremony — an ancient offering ritual practised in temples for centuries.
Afterwards, there is a reflective talk based on the Srimad Bhagavatam, a classical Sanskrit philosophical text. Guests are welcome to stay, explore the island or simply relax before returning in time for morning yoga at the retreat centre.
Participation is always optional, and many guests simply appreciate the peaceful setting and lakeside crossing.
Sunday Feast (Optional Visit)

Mantra Meditation & Spiritual Practice
A part of our spiritual retreats in Ireland is mantra meditation.
Mantra meditation involves gently repeating sacred sounds to calm the mind and centre the heart. This practice, rooted in the Vedic tradition of ancient India, is simple, accessible and deeply grounding.
Sessions may include:
- Soft individual mantra meditation (japa)
- Group kirtan (sacred chant music)
- Silent meditation
The intention is not performance, but presence — allowing awareness to deepen naturally.
