Option to take a boat service over to island (across 200 metres of lake water) to visit temple. Depart from island again in time for morning yoga. (Optional) Attendance at the 'Greeting of the Deities' in the temple. This ceremony begins with some spiritual music arranged by George Harrison (of the Beatles) in 1970 - George played the harmonium for the recording. The programme continues with some chant music and an arati - aratis are ancient ceremonies that have taken place in Hindu and Buddhist temples for millennia. Afterwards there is a talk on the Srimad Bhagavatam, a Sanskrit philosophical text. Guests are welcome to stay for as long as they like, or may relax elsewhere on the island, as they wish. |

Depart retreat centre to Cladagh Glen for a forest, river and Geo-park hill walk. Up to 2 hours duration. Linear walk... you have an option to return to cars at any time and relax / read. Mindfulness walk along one section of the river. As another option, you might like to visit the Marble Arch caves. For this, you would have to pre-book a tour with them starting around 3.30pm, plus bring your own car. |

The Yoga this weekend is being shared with us by the lovely Padma, above.
Padma began practicing yoga in 1991 with Norma Duffield, and received her yoga teacher training qualification from the Yoga Fellowship of Northern Ireland in 2001. After 8 years of intense training in a Bhakti-yoga ashram living a monastic lifestyle, she gained an in-depth understanding of yoga philosophy and psychology, mantra meditation, vegetarian cooking and Ayurveda. She has studied with teachers from various yoga traditions including Mira Metha, Ana Forrest, Hamish Hendry and John Scott, and has taught in Ireland, the United States, India, and England.
