the early morning
A Healthy Body Mind and Soul holiday where you'll get to explore your inner
self and the beautiful natural world. You're sure to make new friends and enjoy some holistic fun! The morning yoga
is energetic, and suitable for first-timers or people with some experience. Note: the schedule of this weekend has
plenty of outdoor activities. If you are interested in investigating philosophy or spiritual wisdom on this weekend
you'll have to (1) go over to island for the morning programme at 6.30am on Saturday and / or talk to Tim
individually, or request Tim to arrange a meeting with a monk or nun. You can also purchase books on Eastern
philosophy at the Centre.

Option to take a boat service over to island (across 300
metres of lake water) to visit temple. Depart from island again with plenty of time for morning
yoga.
Attendance at the 'Greeting of the Deities' in the temple. This ceremony begins with some
spiritual music arranged by George Harrison (of the Beatles) in 1970 - George played the
harmonium for the recording.
The programme continues with some chant music and an arati - aratis are ancient
ceremonies that have taken place in Hindu and Buddhist temples for millennia.
After the chant we'll walk around the island outside. Wellington boots are recommended for this,
as some of the woodland tracks are muddy.

OPTION 1:
Depart for walk / hike to Cuilcagh Mountain
Geo-park
You'll need walking boots, a light rain jacket and a water bottle for this. N.B. walking boots
or wellington boots are essential as parts of the ascent and the descent are muddy.
We'll bring a picnic!
Note: If you are not interested in going on this walk then there are several
alternatives: the nearby (1)Florence Court House and gardens, Visitors Centre, tea-rooms and tour.
Open from 11am to 5.00pm and cost £5.00 for a tour of the stately house, (2) An easier, shorter,
slower version of this same walk, up to the point were the steeper ascent begins.
OPTION 2: If you'd like to spend more time visiting the temple and island you could instead
go over on the ferry at 12.20pm, attend the chant for 30mins, and then either (1) attend some or
all of the talk / discussion on the ancient text Bhagavad Gita or (2) Go for a walk around the
island at this time. At 2.15pm the Sunday Feast is served, and the return ferry to the mainland is
at 3.15pm.
